ABOUT THE CRAFTER

Hello craft seekers.  My name is Steve Hewlin.  I'm from Cow Head.

I have always been a fan of wood working but never used a wood lathe before.  I bought an old lathe from someone about 10 years ago but never ever had the time or space to set it up and over the years it kind of just got shoved into the corner and forgotten about.

Last August 2019 I got laid off from my job in a mine because of a bunch of safety issues that needed to be fixed. I cleaned out the shed and in the process, rediscovered my lathe.  I blew the dust off and set it up. Right from the very moment I flicked the switch I was turned on (pun intended - LOL). Obviously there was a steep learning curve but I am slowly but surely getting the knack for it and I have a very creative mind.  It's definitely my passion.
