Our very own Daniel Payne and local musicians, "The Misfits" will be popping up at various times throughout the festival.

Thursday, Sept 27: 

12:00 noon:  Lunch - Music by Daniel Payne at Shallow Bay Motel  - $7.50 Sponsored by CBDC Nortip

1:30 pm: Craft Demonstrations (knitting, darning, mat hooking- bring your worn socks to be mended )- Dr. Henry N. Payne Community Museum

7:00 pm: Silent Auction begins at Shallow Bay Motel.

8:30 pm:  Opening Concert - Shallow Bay Motel – “Women of Gros Morne”

 9:00 am:  Workshop with students at Long Range Academy with Fergus O’Byrne and Jim Payne, Gary and Ruth Greene

(Music, Storytelling, Jig Doll Dancing and Medieval Brass Rubbings)

10:00am-4pm: Moose Tufting Workshop begins with Duncan Chisolm- Register 243-2023 Location - Town Hall

10:00am -   Workshop Day 1- Natural Dyeing of fabric with Shawn O’Hagan- Location Church Hall

12:00 noon: Silent Auction continues…

12:00 noon:  Lunch at Shallow Bay Motel   Lobster Chowder & Fish ‘n Chips daily.

1:00 pm: Talk to local fisherman and watch as they knit lobster heads and build a lobster trap.

2:00 pm – Make and take with Bride Locke- Creating flowers with paint pouring technique Location Shallow Bay Motel

3:00 pm – Parks Canada Bird Walk – Learn all about birds on Belldowns and Stearin’ Islands - Meet at Shallow Bay Day Use Area Parking Lot

5:00pm: Moose Dinner, side dishes & music at Church Hall by the Misfits- Sponsored by St. Mary’s Anglican Church Women. -$10

5:00 pm: Shallow Bay Motel – Steak night and Fish ‘n Chips

Saturday, Sept.29:

 9-11am: Breakfast- Beans, bologna and all the fixins’ sponsored by War Memorial Committee-St. Mary’s Church Hall –Fee $7

Wash it all down with a good dose of Traditional Newfoundland Music

9:30 am: Workshop Moose Tufting resumes with Duncan Chisholm

9:30 am:  Workshop Day 2 Slow stitch embroidery on dyed fabric with Shawn O’ Hagan

11:00 am: Heart and Soul (hiking, music, history and cuisine) – Tour Cow Head Summerside with Glenda, Daniel, Fergus and Jim. At the end enjoy a Taste of Gros Morne, featuring traditional food with a modern twist overlooking beautiful Shallow Bay. The culinary tasters will consist of seafood and wild game prepared for you to enjoy after a relaxing tour of the head. $25 (approx. 21/2- 3hrs.). Register at museum 243-2023

1:00 pm – Mat  Demonstrations with Ruth Green - Storytelling extraordinaire  with Gary Green at Dr. Henry N. Payne Community Museum

 Ruth has been a mat maker since 1995.  She works primarily with wool yarn to create mats which capture Newfoundland and Labrador, past and present, especially as it relates to her connections to places throughout the province.  Ruth also works with various mediums to create different types of mats.

3:00 pm: Traditional Music and Song with the MisFits at Dr. Henry N. Payne Community Museum. 

4:00 pm: Brenda Stratton - Craft Sector Development Specialist Workshop at the Warehouse Theatre
