Schedule of events for 7th Annual Gros Morne Fall Festival

Our very own Daniel Payne and local musicians, "The Misfits" will be popping up at various times throughout the festival.

Thursday, Sept 26: 

9:00 am: Adventure Smart Program - Andy Nichols - Long Range Academy

12:00 noon:  Lunch - Music by Daniel Payne at Shallow Bay Motel 

2:00 pm: Craft Demonstrations (knitting, darning, mat hooking- bring your worn socks to be mended )- Dr. Henry N. Payne Community Museum

7:00 pm: Silent Auction begins at Shallow Bay Motel.

7:00 pm Gros Morne Theatre Festival -Only Living Father

8:30 pm:  Opening Concert - Daniel Payne & the Misfits - Shallow Bay Motel $

 9:00 am:  Musc with students at Long Range Academy with Daniel Payne, Fergus O’Byrne, Jim Payne and David Penny

10:00 am-4pm: Moose Tufting Workshop begins with Duncan Chisholm-(sold out) - Town Hall $200

10:00am - 3:30 pm  Making  Spruce Root Baskets - Demonstration with Eileen Murphy - St. Mary’s Church Hall

12:00 noon: Silent Auction continues… Shallow Bay Motel

12:00 noon:   Lobster Chowder & Fish ‘n Chips with local musicians at Shallow Bay Motel  

12:00 noon: Fish ‘n chips & Fish ‘n Brewis wit musicians at Back Cove Café

1:00 pm: Talk to local fisherman and watch as they knit lobster heads and build a lobster trap.

At Adrian’s shed – blue shed on your right as you tip down the hill to the fishing village

1:30 pm- Mi'kmaq history lessons with the Qalipu Mi’kmaq First Nations Band-Long Range Academy

2:30 pm – Music with Dave Penny and Stephanie Payne at the Dr. Henry N. Payne Community Museum & Craft Shop $5

3:30 pm - Tidal Pool Walk with Sheldon Stone - Parks Canada - Cow Head Summerside

5:00pm: Moose Buffet & music at Church Hall- Sponsored by St. Mary’s Anglican Church Women. -$10

5:00 pm: Steak night and Fish ‘n Chips - Shallow Bay Motel

 9-11am: Beans, bologna and all the fixins’ Breakfast sponsored by War Memorial Committee-St. Mary’s Church Hall –Fee $10

Wash it all down with a good dose of Traditional Newfoundland Music

10:am - 2pm: Qalipu Cultural Demonstrations - Qalipu Mi’kmaq First Nations Band

11:00 am: Heart and Soul (hiking, music, history and cuisine) – Tour Cow Head Summerside with Glenda, Daniel, Fergus and Jim and Dave. At the end enjoy delicious cuisine, featuring traditional food with a modern twist overlooking beautiful Shallow Bay. $25 (approx. 21/2- 3hrs.). Register at museum 243-2023

12 pm noon: A variety of Fish dishes (Fish Cakes, Fish ‘Chips ,Cod au Gratin, Chowder,Fish Wraps, Fish Burgers) and Music at Back Cove Café
